What is recorded here

On the summit of a low hill, in pasture. S of extensive area of hazel and scrub, 500m W of cairn (MA121-089----). Poorly preserved remains of an oval-shaped cairn (diam. 18m N-S; H 1m) delimited by 43 boulders representing kerbing. Covered cist (MA121-085002-); investigated by Wilde, (1872, 224). Interior heavily overgrown. The above description has been derived from D. Lavelle (compiler), An Archaeological Survey of Ballinrobe and District including Lough Mask and Lough Carra. Lough Mask and Lough Carra Tourist Development Association (1994), No. 33.
