What is recorded here

Situated on a fairly level landscape. The early church (ME036-011----) is within an oval, grass-covered enclosure (dims 75m WNW-ESE; 50m NNE-SSW) defined by an earthen bank with an external fosse, and an outer bank that is absent SSE-SW. There is an entrance through the inner (Wth 3m) and outer (Wth 6.6m) banks at SW and another entrance at SE. There is no evidence of burial, but locally it is thought that burial has not occurred for over a hundred years. There is a house (ME036-011002-) just W of the church and another (ME036-011003-) outside the enclosure to the NE. The enclosure is within a larger ecclesiastical enclosure (ME036-011004-). Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 16 February, 2015
A local fairy fort (ringfort/rath); wider significance not recorded.
