In the centre of Graiguenamanagh between Mill Street and Main Street. A clapper bridge (one of two footbridges indicated on the 25-inch OS map) spanning a shallow point of the Duiske River just N of where a millrace joins it from the S. A simple, narrow, five-span bridge (L 24m across the river; av. Wth 0.6m) constructed of local rough-cut granite lintels mounted two abreast on granite upright supports (Farrelly et al. 1993, vol. 1, 157). The bridge may have been associated with Duiske Abbey (KK029-018001-). It is included in Kilkenny County Council’s list of Protected Structures (no. D153). Having fallen into disrepair, it was reconstructed in September 2013, the upright supports being placed in a bed of concrete.
