In pasture. Indicated as penannular enclosure (diam. c. 60m), open to S, surrounding Springfort House on 1842 OS 6-inch map. Arc (C 44.6m) formed by earthen bank (max. int. H 1.35m; ext. H 1m) survives SSW -> NNW; continues as low rise NNW -> NNE. Farm buildings built on area of E bank. Dwelling house and farm buildings in interior. Fosse survives as shallow depression to SW. Locally known as site of ringfort. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000).
