On a natural rise, in pasture with panoramic views from NNE-E-S-W-NW, 105m ESE of a townland boundary with Corrabulbeg. Depicted on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a circular-shaped earthwork. Monument surveyed by the ASI in 2007 and described as a subcircular-shaped area (18m E-W; 16m N-S) defined by a fosse (Wth 4.75m; D 0.2m) from ESE-SE and by a scarp (Wth 1.0m; H 0.15m) from ESE-SE-SSE. A wide outer bank (Wth 9.2m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 0.2m) is present from ESE-SE-SSE, which is reduced to scarp (Wth 0.7m; H 0.2m) from SW-W-N-NE. The surviving bank and scarp are defined by a ring of mature beech and thorn trees. Traces of an outer fosse (Wth 3.2m; D 0.2m) are present from SW-W-N-NE. There is a possible entrance at NE. The interior has a SW-facing slope and is grass covered. Monument is visible as a roughly subcircular-shaped tree-planted earthwork on OSi aerial orthoimage taken 2005-2012, on Digital Globe orthoimage taken 2011-2013 and on Google Earth orthoimage taken 28/06/2018. Tory Hill HouseCountry house · 510 yd

Explorer Tom Tory Hill House hears everything through its thin walls. It can hear the medieval church gossiping about the coach house, which is weird considering they're centuries apart in style. Tell it a joke, it's been waiting.

Tory HillHillfort · 559 ydTarbrook HouseCountry house · 1463 yd

Explorer Tom Tarbrook House in Skagh says a giant once tried to eat it but got stuck on the outbuildings. It’s a modest three-bay two-storey home that has survived centuries of simple architecture without trying too hard. Best seen with a hand on your heart and a smirk.

European ash1.0 mi

Explorer Tom European ash is thinking about what the builder was really thinking when they planted it here. It stands quietly in County Limerick, waiting for someone to notice its impressive height. Ideal for a moody photo you'll pretend wasn't posed.

Explorer Tom Ballinveala Castle nearly got famous when someone almost found it but looked in the wrong field. It’s four stories of brickwork pretending to be taller than it actually is. Take the long way round, it deserves the effort.

Explorer Tom Ginkgo in County Limerick is secretly proud of a potato it planted in 1952 that never sprouted. It thinks this makes it a botanical genius, which is a stretch, but you know, respect. A good place to forget your phone for ten minutes.
