Indicated

In a small quarry on the N side of a trackway leading NE from Ardtully House (KE094-071---). A large, well-built, mid/late 19th-century limekiln with façade (S-facing) and side walls of coursed ashlar. Central segmental-arched recess (H c. 2.4m; Wth c. 2.5m; D c. 3.5m) with semi-circular ope at the rear. A path to the E climbs a steep slope to give access to the top of the kiln. The circular brick-lined funnel (diam. 1.8m), with iron rim, splays outwards towards the bottom. Adjacent to the kiln at SE is a free-standing, gable-ended, rectangular building (ext. 10m N-S; 6m E-W), now roofless. Built of random rubble, it has a narrow door ope (Wth 1.4m) off-centre in its N wall and a second wider one (Wth 2.1m) towards the S end of its W wall.
