Indicated

Located at the crest of the S-facing slope of a plateau. It is depicted as a subcircular feature on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map and as a subcircular hachured feature on a revision of that map made in 1858. It is depicted as an area of scrub on the 1907 edition, and it is known locally as a fort. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. c. 35m) defined by an earthen bank (Wth c. 3m; ext. H 1.2m at NW to2m at SE and SW) and hedge N-S-W that melds into the slope elsewhere, with an outer fosse or drain (Wth 0.7m) E-S. There is a cattle gap at NE, but the original entrance is not evident.
