What is recorded here

In marshy flat ground, to SW of a stream. A slightly raised central area (c. 22m N-S; c. 29m E-W) defined by a dry flat-bottomed fosse (Wth 2.2m) SSE-NNE and by a scarp (H 0.5m) elsewhere. The external bank (Wth 6.6m; ext. H 1.45m; int. H 1m) is evident SSW-NNE. The E half of the interior is poached by cattle while the remainder is convex and raised c. 0.4m above the base of the fosse. Field boundaries skirt the ring-barrow E-SSE and W-N. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
