Large island in Lough Oughter, c. 100m from the shoreline. Davies (ITA Survey 1942) described it as a crannóg-cairn composed of small stones with piles and logs around it forming a log platform. Cairn, circular in plan (diam. c. 32m) and rising to between 1.5m and 2.1m in height. He also noted several radial beams of fir and oak at N. (Davies 1942, 17) The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995).
