On a slight knoll on a terrace on valley side, in rolling grassland. There are good views in all directions. According to Carrigan (1905, vol. 2, 327), 'The parish church [KK009-044001-] of Clonetubrid disappeared very long ago. It stood at the south end of the modern churchyard of Clonetubrid, immediately outside the churchyard wall, where its site presents the appearance of a half dismantled rath'. This suggests that the present enclosed graveyard is smaller than the original graveyard which would have surrounded the church. The present sub-rectangular graveyard (dims. c. 46m N-S; c. 60m E-W) has a modern RC church aligned E-W just N of the centre of the graveyard and a holy well (KK009-044004-) in the SE angle. The entrance is in the W wall, from the public road which runs NW-SE along the W side of the graveyard.

Church in ClontubbridChurch · 2 yd

Explorer Tom Church in Clontubbrid has vanished so completely that the wind keeps picking on its ghost. It whistles through the spot like it’s trying to remember what it used to be. Spot the oldest stone and give it a name.

Saint Fiacre's Catholic ChurchChurch/chapel · 8 ydToberadrughHoly well · 33 yd

Explorer Tom Toberadrugh well has an imaginary fan club that mostly consists of confused tourists and one very determined goat. The hermit inside is probably napping on a stone cushion. Wave at the cows, they're the real locals.

IndicatedBawn · 1.6 mi

Explorer Tom Bawn in Balleen Little was run by a matchmaker who knew everyone’s business. She’d whisper secrets into the walls, which are now just crumbling and judgmental. Take a mate and argue about what it was for.

CastleCastle, unclassified · 1.6 mi

Explorer Tom Castle in Balleen Little is gone, but the seagulls still gossip about it. They say it had a great view before they demolished it for parking. Perfect spot to practise your best tour-guide voice with no audience.

TobernapeastiaHoly well · 1.7 mi

Explorer Tom Tobernapeastia is feuding with the rain because it thinks the muck is making it look bad. People used to wash their hands here for worms, but now it’s just a hollow. Look for the ghost, then pretend you didn't.
