In Castle Mary demesne, c. 90m SW of house. Front (H 6m; Wth 6m) W-facing; infilled brick-arched recess (Wth 2.1m) with brick-built relieving arch overhead. Funnel brick-lined at base, stone-lined higher up. Walls project on each side of front wall of kiln. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
