Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

In undulating pasture, on a rise. A raised circular area (diam. 24.8m) enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth 5.4m; int. H 0.65m; ext. H 1.6m). There is an entrance (Wth 2m) at SE. A slight depression (Wth 3m) outside the bank SW-NW may indicate a silted-up fosse. A section of bank and the interior at N has been quarried into. The interior is slightly uneven with a low rise in the centre. There are hawthorn bushes along the bank. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
