Large subcircular enclosure (diam. c. 240m) marked on 1842, 1904 and 1938 OS 6-inch maps. Enclosure defined by stone wall with rubble core (H 1.2m) NW->ESE, except for earthen bank (H 1m) NNE->E; earthen stone-faced bank ESE->SW, skirted by laneway; no visible surface trace of enclosing element survives SW->NW. Ringfort with possible Man-made underground passage (CO060-075002, CO060-075003-) in SE quadrant; second possible Man-made underground passage (CO060-075004-) immediately inside ESE wall of enclosure; bullaun stone (CO060-075006-) and cross-inscribed stone (CO060-075005-) to SE of enclosure on opposite side of laneway. While no evidence or tradition of church site or burial ground survives, the above elements suggest the possible presence of an early ecclesiastical site (Swan 1988, 4-5).
