Hanover Hall Bridge

Freestanding double-span road bridge, built c.1800, spanning River Laney. Rubble stone walls with round-headed arches having dressed stone voussoirs. V-cutwaters to north elevation and weir to south. Solider capping stones to parapet wall. Located at the entrance to Hanover Hall.

The cut-stone voussoirs and V-cutwaters show evidence of the high quality craftsmanship typical of this era, while the solider capping stones to the parapet wall provide interest to the roadside. The combination of dressed voussoirs and rubble limestone walls provides rich textural interest.
