Indicated

On an E-facing slope of rising ground in the Slieveardagh hills in grassland with good views from N through E to S with higher ground to W. Nearby enclosure possible (TS049-056----) 180m to S. Depicted on 1st (1840) ed OS 6-inch map as a large circular enclosure (diam. c. 100m N-S; c. 90m E-W) bisected by an E-W field boundary running E-W. A stream runs downhill from W to E in the southern half of the enclosure. The S bank of the enclosure had been incorporated in a field boundary, and is indicated on the 1903 ed. as a such, however, this section of the bank has been levelled and only survives from SE-SW as a low rise of ground (H 0.1m). There are modern farm buildings located in the N half of the enclosure. The field boundary which bisected the monument is still present and the stream, though dried out, is still visible in the S half. Agricultural buildings have been built to the N of the bisecting field boundary. This field boundary is located c. 45m away from the original enclosing element to the S.
