Thirty-seven years young when the first preservation order dropped like a hammer in 1971, the circular hut still wears its thin skin of earth beside Lisnaran fort. Inside the fort's eastern shadow, a four-metre chamber and a larger rectangular ghost wait for hands bold enough to touch what the law now shields. The rectangle may have swallowed the circle or the circle may have spawned the rectangle; either way, human life stretched and compressed around that much smaller space.

At E of interior of 'Lisnaran fort' (LH015-015001-) is a circular hut site (LH015-015002-) (int. diam. 4.2m) delimited by a slight bank (Wth 1m, H 0.2m). Adjacent to this hut site, on the edge of the interior of the site, are two banks suggesting the former existence of a larger, rectangular hut (LH015-015003-).
