Hut site in Galmoystown

Hut site

What is recorded here

No visible trace remains. The earth forgot the hut, the hut forgot its owner, and the owner stopped being certain he existed. What is left is a ridge, a field bank, and a man who stopped asking whether he was real.
Situated on a N-S undulating ridge in a low-lying landscape and at the centre of rath (ME015-086----). A NE-SW field bank overlies the interior of the rath just S of the centre, and it incorporates the SE part of the bank (Wth of base 6m; H 0.1-0.4m) defining a small hut-site (int. diam. c. 5m).
