What is recorded here

Excavated (E4200) by D. Gallagher as part of Drumgold 1 in advance of the M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy road scheme. Just W of the N-S palisade of the possible rectangular enclosure (WX026-080001-) and within the enclosure is a circular hut-site (int. diam. 7.5m NW-SE) defined by a slot-trench (Wth 0.57-0.87m; D 0.22-0.4m), with an inturned entrance (Wth 1m) marked by post-holes at SE. There are a number of internal post-holes and a central hearth (dims 1.2m x 1.1m; D 0.15m). A second hut-site (WX026-080003-) is 7m to the NW and separated from this hut-site by the E-W palisade trenches of the N side of the enclosure.
