What is recorded here
Situated on a low hill with extensive views to the N, E & S. Country house marked on OS 6-inch map as 'Gaulstown' located 220m to NNE. The grass-covered wall footings of a long rectangular house, orientated on a N-S axis, occupies most of the interior of the enclosure (WM003-058----). The long house possibly of 17th century date has the remains of entrance gaps directly opposite each other at S end of E and W sides. Slight traces of an internal division suggests that the house was divided into two rooms. House plan best preserved from S-SW. Another sub-rectangular platform in the S quadrant of the ringfort interior may represent a second hut site.
