Detached four-bay (formerly three-bay) single-storey vernacular house, built c.1800, having attic floor, three-bay porch addition, and additional flat roofed extension linking with pitched thatched roof extension to rear. Pitched thatched roof to older part of house, with block ridge having decorative scollop detailing, and single rendered chimneystack. Limewashed rubble stone walls. Square-headed openings, windows lacking sills, with one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows. Square-headed doorway with battened timber door. Building to northeast has limewashed rubble stone walls, pitched slate roof and low rendered chimneystack, and has lower pitched slate addition to east and lean-to corrugated-iron roof to road elevation. Lawn to front of house bounded by rubble stone wall. Outbuilding to southwest has limewashed rubble stone walls and lean-to corrugated-iron roof.

This thatched house is a very good example of domestic vernacular architecture. The long, squat form of the building, the small openings and the low chimneystack are typical of the district. The retention of the thatched roof, and the continuation of thatch for the extension to the rear, contribute significantly to the architectural heritage. The associated buildings and boundary enhance the prominent roadside setting.
