Detached three-bay two-storey house, built c.1900. Recent lean-to (south-east) and rear (south) extensions. Pitched slate roof with rendered chimneystacks and uPVC rainwater goods. Rendered walls with rubble stone buttress to south-east elevation. Square-headed openings with two-over-two timber sliding sash and uPVC windows with concrete sills. Square-headed door opening with replacement uPVC door. Rubble stone wall to front (north). Former three-bay two-storey dwelling and rubble stone outbuildings to north-west.
The modest form and symmetrical plan of this house is suggestive of the work of the Congestive District Board, which built houses in rural areas at the turn of the century in an attempt to improve living standards. The Board often built houses in close proximity to the vernacular houses which they were replacing, as is the case on this site. The associated buildings add to its setting and context. Such complexes are becoming increasingly rare throughout the county.
