What is recorded here

Described by Lynch (1909-11, 190) as following; 'Northeast of the Beann is the well of St. Martin, formerly much frequented. Mr. O'Neill told me that there was an old road near the well, but the track is not known'. Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien based on details provided by Patrick Hourigan Date of upload: 01 July 2019
Linked to St. Martin, the well was historically visited for its perceived healing properties. The site's association with an old road suggests it may have been a pilgrimage or ritual route in earlier times.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
