Holy well

What is recorded here

Along a stream in undulating grassland. According to local tradition, there was a holy well here; no visible surface trace survives. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Date of upload: 05 August 2010
Linked to an unrecorded saint or local tradition, the holy well at Springlawn was likely associated with water-based healing rituals or seasonal offerings, as was common in many rural Irish holy well traditions. No specific folklore or historical records have been documented for this site.
