Quadrant entrance gateway, erected c.1800, comprising central vehicular entrance flanked by pedestrian entrances defined by square-profile ashlar limestone piers with chamfered panels, having decorative carved caps and moulded plinths. Spear-headed cast-iron gates, double-leaf to vehicular entrance. Sweeping coursed rubble limestone walls terminated by outer piers, similar to others but lacking panel device and plinths.

The decorative piers and railings of Grove House demonstrate interesting and intricate cast-iron techniques, as well as the finely carved piers which are clearly the work of skilled craftsmen. The carving of the sculpted caps and the chamfered panels are particularly well executed. They create a handsome, sweeping entrance and form an interesting roadside feature.
