Graveyard in Coolnahorna

Graveyard

What is recorded here

Coolnahorna holds a graveyard on flat pasture beside the Comeragh Mountains, linked to the lost church of O'Brackenstown. Animal bones still surface where human graves may have lay, blurring the boundary between livestock and ancestors. The land remains alive with forgotten prayers, even when no stone marks the dead.
Situated in pasture on flat ground at the E foothills of the Comeragh Mountains. A church known as Cill Bhaile Uí Bhreacain - the church of O'Brackenstown (Power 1952, 406) may have had a graveyard, and some bones which are probably animal bones were found at the location.
