Double-arch bridge, built c.1830, crossing Abhainn Shrath Chaisil [Stracashel River], with additional arch to southwest, having raised cut-stone voussoirs, cut-stone triangular cut-waters with rendered copings, and rubble stone walls and parapets, latter with rendered copings.
A well-built bridge that is an attractive feature over Abhainn Shrath Chaisil [Stracashel River]. It is constructed of traditional masonry and its arches have retained their integrity, a testament to the technical and engineering merits of its builders. The bridge also has social significance as part of the road network developed in Ireland during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries.
