Giants Grave

Situated on a gentle S-facing spine overlooking a low-lying basin to the S. An overgrown area with several upright stones suggests the remains of a two-chambered gallery (dims 7m NE-SW; 1.5m NW-SE) which probably formed a court tomb. Seven contiguous stones, including one jamb-stone at E, on the SE side of the gallery survive with two jamb-stones from the NW side. There are some traces of a cairn but field stones have been added to it. Neolithic passage tomb, dating to approximately 3500–2500 BCE. Its two-chambered gallery and positioning on a prominent landscape feature suggest it was a significant ritual or burial site in the prehistoric community.
