What is recorded here
Cast-iron gate posts, gates and railings, c.1835. Four posts of hollow frames with infill to match railings. Pyramidal caps. Flanking railings on rubble plinth walls. Terminating rubble piers.
These elegant cast-iron gates and railings form an attractive screen on the roadside, announcing the presence of the estate lands beyond. They are a pair with the other set of estate entrance gates to the south.
This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
