What is recorded here
Large erratic boulder with carved recess for plaque, which is now missing, erected c.1800. Recess faces south-west and is approximately 30 cm by 20 cm in size. Stone is located 5 metres from gate at road, beside and above mountain trail.
Set in beautiful countryside and partially hidden by vegetation, this stone courts one of the many legendary stories of Finn MacCool, adding a mythological dimension to this rural location.
