Detached double gable-fronted three-bay single-storey former gate lodge, built c. 1860, having pitched roof return to and two-bay extension to south and two-bay flat-roofed extension to west elevation of return. Single-bay pitched-roof extension to south of flat-roofed extension. Now in use as house. Pitched slate roof with terracotta ridge crestings. Pitched and hipped tiled roofs to extensions. Rendered chimneystacks. Rendered walls. Square-headed openings with chamfered rendered sills, bipartite one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows to side and rear elevations and uPVC windows to west elevations of extensions. Square-headed opening to front elevation with timber battened door. Square-headed opening to east gable with replacement uPVC door. Rendered boundary wall with square-profile rendered piers and wrought-iron pedestrian gate. Vehicular site entrance to west with red brick sweep walls, red brick square-profile piers and wrought-iron double-leaf gates.
Bipartite timber sash windows add interest and depth to small gate lodge. Substantially altered and extended, it appears that the elevation presented to the road may originally have been intended as a modest rear elevation, with a more consciously designed elevation facing towards the approaches to Park House to the south, emphasising the importance of the Country House.
