What is recorded here

Wall-mounted cast-iron milestone, c.1850, on a triangular plan. Set in limewashed random rubble stone surround with rubble stone voussoirs.
An attractive feature in the streetscape, this milestone represents an early-surviving artefact of mass-produced cast-iron ware, while the various raised details enhance the artistic design quality of the piece.

This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
