Detached multiple-bay single-storey former gate lodge, c.1850, on an L-shaped plan. Now in use as a detached house. Roughcast rendered walls. Timber casement windows with stone sills. Hipped slate roof to front, pitched to rere, with smooth rendered chimney stacks. Flat-roofed porch extension containing entrance to re-entrant corner. Set inside modern gateway having pair of carved limestone plaques.
A simple former gate lodge with many original materials, enhancing the charm which it contributes to this road and to the college entrance. Visually prominent when viewed from the village to the north.
