Garrowcarry Fairy Fort is a ruined earthen ringfort on a low Donegal hill where only a southwest arc remains of the complete circle once drawn across good land. The surviving inner bank rises 1.4m, the outer bank reaches 1.9m, and the shallow fosse still cuts between them under grass and forgotten footsteps. It is easy to picture people moving through that broken gate, marking territory or sharing meal smoke beneath an open sky before the earth took the rest back.
Internal diam. c. 50m. Marked on the 1st and 2nd editions of the OS 6-inch maps as a complete monument its present condition is as shown on the 3rd edition i.e. only the SW arc survives. This confirms that originally a subcircular area was enclosed by an earthen bank, fosse and outer bank. The inner bank survives to a height of 1.4m and a section 21m long survives. It is partly overgrown as is the fosse, which is 1m in depth. A 33m section of the outer bank survives c. 1.9m in height. It is situated on the summit of a low hill in good land.
