What is recorded here

Garraun is a faded fairy fort on a Galway slope, its wide earth bank now choked with bramble and hawthorn. The fort is large enough to walk through several times before returning to the beginning, yet much of its edge has become indistinct under grass and modern damage. A short distance away lies a worn stone basin, the kind of place where water may have been kept, poured or remembered. The site does not demand belief, but it does resist forgetting.

On a S-facing slope in undulating grassland. Poorly preserved subcircular rath (69m N-S; 66m E-W) defined by a bank and external fosse; the latter is visible at W and N. The bank is overgrown with bramble and hawthorn and several gaps in it appear to be modern. A bullaun lies c. 100m to the E.
