What is recorded here

Gallan is a rectangular standing stone in County Cork, Ireland, aligned north-northeast to south-southwest and rising 1.65 metres above the ground. It still stands in a laneway leading to a house, where people have passed it in daylight and darkness for generations. The stone may have marked a boundary, a memory or a warning, but its exact purpose has faded. What remains is a tall shape in an ordinary lane, waiting to be noticed.
