Archaeological testing (23E0738) by D. Gallagher of an area (c. 0.75 ha.) identified a spread of burnt mound material (excavations.ie 2023:181) which was completely excavated by Donald Murphy in October 2023 under the same licence when two fulachta fia were recorded (excavations.ie 2023:566). This feature consists of a thin mound of heat-shattered stones in a grey/black silty clay (dims 7.8m E-W; 4m N-S; T 0.05-0.15m). A smaller mound (diam. 3-3.8m; T 0.05-0.15m) was just to the N.
