Fulacht fia in Archerstown

Not marked on the 1841 or 1908 editions of the OS 6-inch maps. Reference to fulacht fiadh (Candon 1987, 24). A sub-circular area (dims. c. N-S c. 13.1m E-W, c. 12.5m N-S) containing burnt stone. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P. David Sweetman, Olive Alcock and Bernie Moran.
