What is recorded here

Cnoc Seanratha marks a brutal truth in County Kilkenny: on 26 August 1824, six men were hanged on the hill behind the stone for the murder of John Marum. Michael Campion, William Delaney, Robert Marshall, Patrick Phelan, William Phrlan and Thomas Seales lost their lives there, turning an ordinary field into a place of warning. The stone does not decorate memory; it holds the shock of what was done and asks witnesses to remember the names instead of forgetting them.
