Geophysical survey (Licence no. 03R095) identified a field system associated with a large ecclesiastical enclosure (DU011-144001-) truncated by the Rathbeale road. Adjacent to the north east of the enclosure the field system consists of a network of sub-rectangular enclosures. The layout of the field system respects the boundaries of the main enclosure complex and mirrors the radials or internal divisions within. A knife recovered during test excavation (Licence no. 03E1080 Ext.) of the field system is comparable to that recovered within the enclosure complex indicating a possible contemporary date of use (Baker 2010).
