On a gentle N-facing slope of a WNW-ESE ridge. The rectangular enclosure (RO028-247001-) is straddled by the house site (RO028-247002-) at N. About 30m to the N of the enclosure an E-W field bank may be the S edge of an ENE-WSW road. This field bank could also be connected to the NE corner of enclosure (RO027-080001-) c. 200m to the W, forming part of a field system covering about 14 acres (c. 5.5 ha). The fields are large (dims c. 100m x c. 50) defined by grass-covered earthen banks (Wth 2-3m; H 0.2-0.4m) with no evidence of lazy-bed cultivation.
