Field boundary in Outeragh

Field boundary

What is recorded here

On generally flat summit of hill in undulating terrain, under fairly lush pasture. Land rises very gradually to S and W. In an aerial photograph (CUCAP AOZ 96 13 July 1966), a bank is shown extending W from near the N edge of the large enclosure (TS076-001003-). This is probably an old field boundary, possibly associated with the monument. It is no longer visible above ground level and does not show up on ASIAP (31) 8, 1996. Another field bank runs roughly N-S from the SW quadrant of the large enclousure, it is visible as an earthwork on the earlier aerial photograph and as a cropmark on the later one.
