Field boundary in Mangerton

In rough hill pasture, on the SW-facing slope of Mangerton Mountain. This network of relict walls extends over an area measuring c. 170m NE-SW x c. 150m NW-SE and mainly consists of two sections of relict field walls (T 0.7m; H 0.4m) at N and S. The N section (on a NE-SW axis), which protrudes above the surface of the bog, extends (L c. 55m) to the SW to where it adjoins the S section. This latter section (on a NW-SE axis) extends intermittently to the SE. These relict walls are to the N and W of an enclosure (KE084-045001-). There is a possible fulacht fia (KE084-045005-) 34m to the N of the N section of the relict field wall. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
