Indicated

A mid/late 19th-century roadside limekiln incorporated into a modern field boundary. The kiln is roughly circular in plan with a random rubble façade and a low revetment to the sides and rear. The front elevation (H 2.4m; wth 2.5m) faces W. It has a lintelled recess (H 1.85m; Wth 1.25m; D 1.6m) with sloping slabs at rear and ope (H 0.35m; Wth 0.5m) at base. The rear of the kiln is c. 0.5m above the level of the field. There is a central funnel (diam. 1.9m at top).
