Field boundary in Mangerton

In rough boggy pasture, on the SW-facing slope of Mangerton Mountain, overlooking the valley of the Owbaun River. A section of relict field wall (T 0.7m; H 0.3m) extends to the NW from the NE arc of an enclosure (KE084-006001-) for a distance of c. 70m. The relict wall (T 0.7m; H 0.3m) consists of a scatter of stones embedded in the bog with some upright stones (H 0.8m) protruding intermittently above the surface of the bog. There is a hut site (KE084-006008-) near the NW extremity of the relict wall. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
