Maulagallane in County Cork, Ireland, contains a large stone ringfort, though its exact position has been lost to time. The site is a fairytale of forgotten stone, where human hands built a fortress that disappeared into grass and memory. What remains is a ghost of a wall, waiting for someone to walk the field and find the shape it hid.

According to O'Donoghue (1986, 56), 'Here are traces of a large caher or stone fort'. As the precise location of this possible cashel is unknown, it remains unlocated within the townland.
