What is recorded here
Wolfesburgess West lost its fairy fort to quarrying and forgetting. The circular enclosure marked on the 1923 map has vanished beneath pasture, leaving only a steep scarped edge that misleads the eye. What remained was a boundary between human memory and landscape, but the boundary has been erased.
In pasture, atop E end of ridge. Monument, depicted as roughly circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) on 1923 OS 6-inch map, has been levelled. Steep scarped edge (H 3.3m; Wth 7.7m) NNW->SE in area of site is more likely result of quarrying than remains of enclosure. Otherwise, No trace of monument evident when inspected.
