Located at the S tip of a small N-S spur. It is depicted as an embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 35m) incorporating the townland boundary with Tullynaskeagh West in the perimeter NW-SE on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in gothic lettering as a ‘fort’. No archaeological feature is visible at ground level in pasture apart from a portion of the perimeter preserved as an overgrown scarp (H c. 2m) and berm N-E. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986).
