Beenvult still stands above Templemichael, but the fine earthen fort at its foot has vanished because people removed the earth for top-dressing. The fairy fort is gone in the most human way possible: its soil was taken to make another place grow. What remained is a absent shape, remembered only through the loss of its own substance.

According to Lynch (1896, 351) 'at the foot of Beenvult there was a very fine earthen fort, but the earth was removed from it many years ago for top-dressing.' The exact location of this monument is not known. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 13 September 2013
