Fairy fort in Rooska East: a earthen ringfort atop a drumlin, looking north across Bantry Bay and Whiddy Island. A roughly circular area, 35.2m N-S and 39m E-W, is enclosed by a 2.65m earthen bank from ENE to NW, with a scarp and internal lip from NW to ENE and an external fosse 0.55m deep. A field fence skirts the fosse from W to NNE. The shape still reads as a made place: a small strongholds or boundary marker set above the bay, not a random heap of soil.
