Freestanding double-height former church, built c.1880, comprising three-bay nave with entrance porch to south-west corner and single-bay chancel to east with single-bay vestry attached to north. Pitched slate roofs with ridge crestings, uPVC rainwater goods and stone coping to gables. Red and yellow brick bellcote with stone coping and carved stone cross finial to west gable. Irregular coursed stone work to walls with red brick quoins, red brick sill bands and red brick stringer course to window arches. Red brick buttresses with yellow brick capping to west elevation. Pointed arch openings with copper alloy lattice tracery, tooled limestone sills, and red brick block-and-start surrounds having red and yellow brick arches above. Pointed arch opening to west gable with tooled limestone surround, having triple lancets with copper alloy tracery set under multifoil openings, now blocked. Pointed arch opening to east gable, having tooled limestone surround, pair with pair of lancets with tooled limestone surrounds and copper alloy tracery set under spoked circular window. Pointed arch opening to porch entrance with red and yellow brick block-and-start surround, tooled limestone steps having red and black tiles to floor. Pointed arch opening with timber panelled door having wrought-iron strap hinges. Rubble stone boundary walls with wrought iron gate.
High quality craftsmanship is evident in the detailing of this former church, which reflects the former importance of the structure to the community. Though no longer in use as a place of worship, it nonetheless retains much of its historic fabric and features intact.
